Shaving Brush Travel Tube 3D Print Model
Summary
I have previously played with similar designs on a travel brush tube for carrying a shave brush. I was able to create one by remixing a few other projects into something that worked for my particular brush. I wanted to build a design from the ground up using openscad so it was parametric and could be easily recreated for different height and width options. The result is what is attached.
To change the dimensions you can set 5 options:
diameter – the inside diameter of the brush tube
height – the inside height of the brush tube
venting_height_percentage – how much of the brush tube is venting
knurl_bevel – the bevel you want on your lid knurling
knurl_smooth – the smoothing you want on your lid knurling
By default it generated a tube and two lids (top and bottom). You can out lines 19,20,21 if you want to generate objects seperately -

Eldritch Horror Board Game Insert 3D Print Model
Summary
This is an insert for the popular board game Eldritch Horror. This comes in two sides. Side 1 and side 2. I have completed the first side and have it printed. I am currently printed the second side, but have included the file. This print takes a good size print bed. It just barely fits on a 300mm bed. Feel welcome to split it up, or if needed I can split it for you. Side one took just over 22 hours to print. Side 2 is currently printing and looks like it will take around the same amount of time. I will update pictures as soon as it is printed. The second side has large bins that are much bigger than needed, but I just wanted to make the most of the available space and keep the design flowing.

Basic Collar 3D Print Model
Summary
This is iteration two and three of my design and this is by far the comfiest. The first design was two separate pieces in PLA with locks on both sides. This proved to be very uncomfortable and would sometimes become back heavy resulting in a choking feeling. Wrapping the PLA in soft material was also of little help.
I realized that a one piece design would be the strongest and least likely to fracture under stress (resulting in sharp edges) so I removed the second lock and printed this in 95A TPU. This makes it wonderfully flexible (it will flex almost flat) and is much more comfortable around the neck, even without a cloth cover.

If you have a PEI bed remember that TPU sticks too well and you risk damaging your bed without precautions. Blue tape, glue stick, and rubbing the PEI with talc then wiping it off are all things you can try to reduce the adhesion. I haven’t tried any of these and I printed directly but would not recommend it for a part this large. -

Hello we are FTC team #9707. We have created this bracket for us with the Tetrix kit of metal parts designed for use in FTC Robotics competition. We hope you find these useful and if you have any questions or comments please let us know. -

Francesca Magic Wand 3D Print Model
Summary
[Più sotto il testo in italiano]
This is the magic wand I made for my daughter Francesca; starting from Patrick Mahoney’s project, (https://www.thingiverse.com/Patrick_Mahoney/about) I wanted to make it happen too but I had several problems so I finally re engineered everything.
The handle is made in 2 parts, cut asymmetrically for convenience, contains the useful space for 2 AAA batteries a scar for the wire of the negative pole and a hole for the same as well as a hole for the positive pole in the central area.
I attached STL both integer and sectioned as interesting to me.
As in Patrick’s project I use an LED (in my case 3mm white 3v) and an inertial switch that is OFF when horizontal. Minimum cost.
The thin part is a single piece and long with an embroidery similar to the handle, the lower part penetrates into the handle and is also a container for the vertical sensor.
The pieces were printed in ASA all without supports, the handle horizontally in two parts while the thin vertical part with a lot of brim to support it being very tall but thin.

Hex Wrench 3D Print Model
Summary
At 100% size, this is a 10 mm hex wrench. To get other sizes, just increase or decrease the size of the wrench in your slicing sofware. For example: if you need a 6 mm hex wrench, print at 60% size. If you’re printing in PLA, make the 3D model a tiny bit bigger because PLA tends to shrink when cooled. So if you are printing the 10 mm hex wrench in PLA, print it at 100,3% size or bigger, depending on your printer’s settings.

LCD Knob with a thumb sub-knob 3D Print Model
Summary
As for many of us, the knob that came in the kit was not working properly and got lost on the second day (or night, not sure, not enough sleep).
I wanted a small knob, that would allow to quickly change the speed of the print (as I’m twitchy during the night prints, usually worse by 4 am).
I’ve added a finger-tip knob onto the knob, to allow for faster/lazier spinning of the dial.
If it works for you, I’m glad. If it doesn’t, don’t bill me for the fill.
PS: Feel free to adjust the height (Z) of the knob.
Original size was slightly exaggerated in order to accommodate for the bracket of the spool holder, which is a bit too close to the knob. -

Blue Microphones Yeti Shock Mount 3D Print Model
Summary
This is a shock mount I designed for my Blue Yeti microphone. It requires 1/8″ bungee cord for assembly, approximately 1-2M if you want to be safe. Using dabs of hot glue when assembling the arms to the clamps would help with assembly.
NO EXTRA HARDWARE IS REQUIRED. The thumbscrews that are included with the Blue Yeti can be used to mount the clamps to the microphone body, as designed. You don’t need to purchase hardware, just bungee cord.
A mic adapter can be taken off of most mic holders (check model for exact tab width to be sure it’ll fit) if not, those mic holders usually come with boom arms from Amazon. Super easy to get ahold of, especially if you need a boom arm as well.

Realistic DX-350 Shortwave Radio Battery Door 3D Print Model
Summary
I’ve had this DX-350 radio forever, and I’ve never had a battery door for it, until now!
If you’re reading this, you may be the only other person on earth that still has a DX-350.
I went through 12 versions until I had one that fit tight, went on and off easily, and didn’t interfere with anything under the door. I have no idea what the original looked like, or how it worked, so this could be better or worse. No idea. If yours is also missing altogether, this one is definitely better 🙂
Post-printing break off the small support at the end of the door clip. It’s only .4mm wide and easily pops right off.
To install the door, slip the hinge end in first, then pull the door back with the finger slot to allow the tongue to fit into the slot. I used plain old PLA, and it was plenty flexible. I’ve had it on and off 10x without issue.
Enjoy!

2020 Caster Mount 3D Print Model
Summary
Inspired by this NYC3D caster mount (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2463705) I designed my own due to being unable to source a 28mm screw space caster wheel. This caster mount will work for any 20×20 V-slot extrusions. For the wheels i am sourcing them from Home Depot Everblit line, that makes it a lot easier to get for most people in North America.
When installing the M5 nut it will be a tight fit, use your pliers to push it in.

Spray can holder for 55mm cans 3D Print Model
Summary
Just a simple can holder for a can smaller than 55mm in diameter. We mountain bike and during the summer, bug repellent spray is mandatory, so we keep a can in the car. Problem is there’s no good spot for it and so it winds up rolling around the car, so I designed this simple holder to be mounted on the side of the cargo area using double-sided tape.

BSG Original Cylon Raider in parts 3D Print Model
Summary
Original Cylon Raider remixed from: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:291123
Chopped up for cleaner prints and some minor cleanup on gun barrels and body. The model has hollow areas in some places and I cleaned up a few.
With 25% infill or more on the main body, it comes out fine except the bottom doors which you can rip off after printing. Thay may print better at larger sizes.
Print Settings
Notes:
Print the main body with supports!!! Infill at 25% or more. You will have to clean up bad sections in the engine output and the bottom doors.
Wings: 25% or more
Guns 25%
Barrels: Solid. Print standing up for best results. -

Tevo Little Monster Clip-On Cable Fenders 3D Print Model
Summary
Tonight when I was calibrating my Little Monster I heard that awful sound when the cable gets stuck between the truck and the optical sensor… It’s probably the 20th time it’s happened but this time I said enough is enough!
So I made these cable guards that only take 10 minutes to print and they snap into position and won’t budge unless you want them to – they work a treat! 🙂
Print in vase mode in the supplied orientation

S800 Sky Shadow improved servo horn 3D Print Model
Summary
Just a small little servo horn with around the same distances than the original that comes with the kit. The problem with the original one was that the horn has to be placed directly through the carbon rod in the control surface. My version should fix that and has a spare space for the carbon rod to go between the servo horn fixture.
At the moment untested, I will update if I have the time to build my S800 😉

Just print it with 100% infill and with high resolution for better results
Post-Printing
I did draw it without tolerances, so you maybe have to widen the holes of the two plates.
And also drill the holes that you need for the linkage 😉 -

Dropcam Pro Window Mount 3D Print Model
Summary
This is a Dropcam Pro window mount based on the window mount by robcurtis, however, I remixed it to eliminate the blind-spots (in the corners of the video) caused by the original design’s round aperture. I also added two additional holes, which I can only assume are present for drainage of any moisture/humidity that may build-up within the mount once it’s on the window. This design holds the camera at a 15-degree angle to the window, just as the original design.

I printed this using a 10mm brim because of the rather narrow bed contact area, but it could probably be printed as-is if you have good bed adhesion. Otherwise, no supports are needed and anything from 20%-25% infill will provide plenty of structure and strength. -

Iron Man Gantry System 3D Print Model
Summary
I found the source of this model over on 3D Warehouse and have made revisions to it.
https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/49b7e04b997ee7fb551e7d48442dc728/Suit-up-Gantry
I wanted to print one for an action figure but the model wasn’t quite ready for printing. I filled in some of the spaces in the original model to make this printable. I used SketchUp and elements the designer provided. -
