Summary
Adapter to allow you to fit an aftermarket wheel to the TX Racing Wheel with a Ferrari 458 Challenge wheel as a base. Includes paddle shift extensions and D-Pad extension/replacement
The 458 Challenge wheel has separate buttons and paddle shifters so is ideal to modify. To retain the D-Pad you will need to drill the replacement wheel. I used the adapter as a template then drill/file to suit.
Some hardware required –
Adapter is designed to accept M5 nuts. Wheels typically require M5 countersunk bolts.
Screws into wheel base are not long enough, I used 20mm M4 but you may get away with 15mm?
Paddle shifter extensions will accept M3 nut/bolts, I drilled the original paddles at 3.5mm and countersunk the extensions for flush finish.
Printing –
I printed in PLA at 95% infill to create a solid part. If you have tuned your extrusion 100% may be a better option.
The adapter is designed for the print to be paused, then drop the M5 nuts into the print, then recommence print. This locks the nuts in the print. The fit is deliberately loose to allow easy insertion, if you are quick this can be done without pausing print. I typically put a layer of masking tape on the top of the nuts, this allows the filament to bond to the nut a little better. In any case the print usually recovers in a few layers.
I have tested this for quite some time without issue. Assuming you have good layer bond the adapter should be strong enough.
D-Pad extension brings the D-Pad out flush with the new wheel position. Paddle shifter extension works well with 320mm wheel but I don’t see any issues with slightly larger wheel.

Known issues: removing supports from the top and bottom is really annoying. Be patient while doing so. I sanded and painted the full crate, especially the bottom, because the surface finish is bad when using supports. -

Molex Cripmer locator 3D Print Model

I have a 63819-1300 series molex crimper, which is a great tool and does a really good job, but the pin locator that comes with it only fits a few pins. I was surprised to discover that I could 3D print a custom locator and it would work almost as well as the original.
The biggest problem was that the original locator has snap lock arms on it so I had to make mine a bit bigger so it would fit tight enough not to fall out while crimping.
This particular one is for Val-U-Lock terminals.
I’ll post more as I have need for them. -

On my setup, the dice is a little bit rounded on the opposite side of the fan at the start of the print. This is a case where a better fans duct would help, otherwise reduce speed, or print 2 at a time to let the plastic cool down.
Post-Printing
I would put some drops of paint (or nail varnish ?) in the number and wipe excess to get the numbers more visible.
How I Designed This
Designed in tinkercad, using Octagon shape generator with settings to the extremes to generate 2 pyramids and a middle plate. Letters are 0.5mm deep. -

Post-Printing
Instructions:
Insert a hex nut into the hex shaped hole in each of the clamp faces. It can be heated and pushed in or “plastic soldered” for a more permanent fit. These will be used to move the clamps.
The 6″ hex bolts, along with the hex nuts, are used to space the parts. The nylon lock nuts are used at the end so they won’t fall off.
The small knob is used on the carriage bolt that attaches the clamp center to the stem.
The bigger knobs are attached to the carriage bolts that move the clamp faces.
The knobs should be a press fit into the bolts.
See the pictures for how to assemble. One pic shows the nuts loosened, another shows it with everything tightened up.
How I Designed This
This was designed using Design Spark.
Due to the threads on the bottom screws, and the off center drive, the movement of this isn’t very smooth. -

Laser Cut Lake Tahoe 3D Print Model
Summary
I designed this as an engineering project at school. I worked on this project with my group for about a month. I used Fusion 360 and mainly the spline tool to trace out an outline of each layer in Lake Tahoe. The final product came out very nicely and we made two different models. One model using wood and the other with cardboard. We used paint to give the lake some color and a spray of clear coat to make it shine. We also used wood stain on the top layer to create contrast between the water and land.
The neat thing with making this lake is that you can customize it:
You can cut as many or little layers as your want
You can cut it out of different materials
You can make it as big or as small as you like
You can add different land/water features (Nevada/Cali border, forests, lakes, streets, water depth) -

Cusomizable Hair Comb 3D Print Model

I printed in PLA with my dual extruder FlashForge Creator Pro.
I curved it in one step just by prying it off the build plate while it was still warm and bending it around a bowl.
I think I might have to print something to help with the bending, hold the pins in place and have a nice curve to bend it over. -
Quick load Spool Holder 3D Print Model

I designed this to take away the rockin’ filament roll sometimes experienced during prints with lots of retractions. With a perfectly sized spool holder, the spool can’t rock just roll. This can go in conjunction with the custom spool holder I made for my cheap HICTOP printer. One can easily lift from shelf and place on printer with no fiddling around. If you are interested, check out the models for my printer mounted spool holder which accepts these spools. If the correct size spool you need is not here, you can use the SolidWorks file to create the size you need. If you don’t have access to such software, just leave a comment stating the filament brand and exact hole size and I will be happy to upload.

The “Gem” design prints fairly well without supports, but, for me the “Halo” one needs them to turn out well. -

Shimano/Maglock Cleat Adapter 3D Print Model
Summary
This is an adapter to allow large longitudinal (fore/aft) adjustment of the pedal-axle relative to the foot when using a Shimano SH-RP5 bike shoe with a Maglock Stealth magnetic pedal system. Via recent research showing benefits from using a more aft position of the pedal’s axle relative to the foot, the opportunity to experiment with a large range of fore/aft foot position may yield comfort and power advantages.

Omitting supports causes pretty rough printing of the low-angle overhang region, but this doesn’t seem to affect functionality (this is a purely functional piece after all). -
Large Outdoor Cat House 3D Print Model
Summary
The original SketchUp file is included so you can get all dimensions and angles for recreating this yourself or make modifications as you wish.
The inside dimensions are about 34″x18″. This perfectly fits the common heating pad made by K&H Manufacturing found on Amazon.
The front window takes a 6.5″ square piece of 1/4″ glass or plexiglass. It slides in from the bottom and the bottom window molding screws onto the house from the inside using a 1.25″ long wood screw.
The entire house is constructed out of 1″ thick boards, except for a few 2″x2″ boards.
The front door is sized for a large cat (15 lbs). If your cat is smaller, you can subtract 1″ from the opening width and height.
The roof is attached using a 3′ long continuous hinge (pictured). I highly recommend stainless steel for the hinge and the wood screws. -

Balcony Pot Plant Holder 3D Print Model
Summary
My girlfriend likes plants. She got a bunch of bread pans that we liked the aesthetics of. due to restricted balcony size i came up with these brackets. the first version allows you to hang one, while the second allows to hang one while placing the second one on top.

DIY/Benbox Chinese laser bracket/mount 3D Print Model
Summary
I made this because the best height for my laser was having it raised to this point. I also dislike the acrylic parts, and wanted some color. I used one of the bracket packages on here, and reworked to fit this. It also adds some rigidity to it. Enjoy!

It takes about 4 hours on my machine, but I have 2 others to print other stuff with. I did use a 10 pass brim to aid in adhesion. Printed with Inland PLA, Peak Green. -

This adds different aesthetics to the drone, allows things to be mounted to it and will fulfill childhood memories of making your creations fly.
