The HA-1112-M1L is a Spanish development of the Bf-109, fitted with Rolls Royce Merlin engines due to lack of DB-605s, and the unserviceability of the Hispano Suiza units originally used. Fitting the Merlins led to the aircraft receiving the nickname Buchon, meaning fat pigeon, as the lower cowling resembled the breast of a pigeon. Two versions landing & Flying on the file.
