How I Designed This
Sculptris
Sculptris is a free modelling software you can download for Windows and Mac. I modelled the bird and then exported to OBJ. MeshMixer
MeshMixer is free 3D software that I used to slice off the bottom of the bird. It originally had a long tail, but I flattened the bottom to make it easier to print.
