Download Free 3D Model Active Transport Protein 3D Print Model
Summary
Although not actual size, this active transport model is the perfect tool for teachers to demonstrate to students how molecules are moved against their concentration gradients through a membrane and into a cell. This product represents the process of an active transport protein diffusing molecules from their low concentration to their high concentration.
The whole model consists of two concentration placement holders (one representing the cytoplasm inside the cell and the other representing the extracellular matrix outside the cell), two extensions of the membrane, a protein plate on which the protein halves rotate, two protein halves that are equipped with engravings that can bind to certain molecules, two plugs to secure the protein into place with the plate, an ATP than can break off into an ADP and a single phosphate, and, as well as, several pieces of two different type of molecules.
