I really liked Neeper’s design and wanted to modify it just abit to better work in my enclosure. I also wanted to lose the zip-tie so I made a little cover for the back held together by two M3x12 bolts and 2 hex nuts. I modified the eyes to have more depth since printing my own so please let me know if you print this and have trouble getting it to fit.

    The key fob for the BMW i3 has got to be the worst shape and design I’ve ever seen. This thing is obnoxiously wide and flat. In my pocket, I’ve accidentally unlocked the car at least 7 times in 3 months. One time caused my car to be burglarized. So I decided that I needed a cover to block the buttons from being pressed. It took some iterations to get the shape right, but I now have a working cover that easily slides on and off for the BMW i3 key fob.

    Summary
    Old computers are great, but the plastics don’t stand the test of time, yellowing through brominated flame retardants, or just getting brittle with age.
    The Amiga 4000 is one of those affected, and due to the limited numbers they were produced in, replacement parts are difficult to get hold of.
    I created this front cover to sit alongside some of the other case replacement projects out there, and in particular, efforts to reverse-engineer and provide spares for worn-out parts.
    This is a bit of a work-in progress still, but from my first attempts, fitment seems good.
    There are two versions, one with some clips which is designed to be split in half for those with smaller printer beds (It fits perfectly on the Prusa I3 printers), and another full-size one for those with larger printers.
    You’ll want to split the print in half in your favourite slicer/editor, right through the keyboard lock, the three clips should then hold the alignment when you join the parts together – superglue is fine for both PETG and PLA.
    I’m still working on the pegs which hold the cover onto the chassis – at the moment the print alignment isn’t great for strength – I’m looking at making recepticles for them so the can be printed separately and glued in place.
    Another option I’m looking at is designing a magnetic attachment version, but that will come later…
    The .step files are included if you want to customise further, or do something crazy, like adapt it for CAM and carve it out of a block of aluminium…
    Print it slow for accuracy – clearance seems okay, but there may still be a few places which need adjusting with sanding.

    This is a remix of mmoore0s great power supply cover. I made the original and broke 2 of them while mounting so I reinforced 3 of the sides and also added the MK2 mounting lug so I could mount it on my clone. It would allow you to use the larger meanwell on any MK2 style frame though. I also, rather than drilling the frame, added the included block and used it with double sided tape to secure the top of the power supply to the frame. I think you could leave that off and the screws at the bottom would be enough to hold it in place if your printer doesnt move much but I just wanted to make sure the top was secured to the frame. I printed the one in the pictures with E3D edge crystal. It looks good and has done the job well so far.

    My FLSun Kossel Mini (printer in pic) came with a no-name generic power supply and one of the first upgrades I made was to replace it with a Mean Well supply. There are numerous mounting options on Thingiverse, I used: “Customizable PSU bracket” (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1646026) by rmoro to mount it on the side.
    It has holes on the right side to fasten to power supply, but it didn’t line up exactly on mine, and the piece stays attached nicely enough from the ridges on the sides.

    I wanted a cover for my Grainfather homebrew system. I understand why the cover is open, but wanted something to keep dust out of it when it was not in use and being stored. This inserts into the class top and is low profile so that it won’t add much height if your storage space is limited.

    After upgrading my Grainfather to the Connect control box, the mash/normal switch was no longer necessary. I was always paranoid that I was going to accidentally switch the element to mash when moving it and slow down my brew day, so I was always checking it – even though I never actually had hit the switch. If you take off the plastic/rubber water resistant cover and replace it with this hard shell, then you don’t have to worry about hitting the switch anymore.

    I loved this design by feenix82, especially the internal cable management, but wanted it to fit the AM8 Misumi Extrusion Frame. I only adjusted the tabs here to fit the frame. After printing I realized I made the tabs a little too thin and the screw would bottom out, therefore you may need to add a washer under the screw head to prevent that. The cover with 120mm fan is awesome but for some reason my printer had issues printing the honeycomb pattern horizontally so I got rid of them. This may actually improve airflow as it’ll pull more air from the sides of the case and out the front. Who knows. Either way, I like that the motherboard and mosfet is enclosed and this should provide some much needed cable management.

    I printed with supports but many say you don’t need it. In my case it may have caused more issues as in trying to remove supports I broke some of the cable management loops inside and had to glue them. You’ll have to try it and see how it works with your printer.

    ::::: Caution :::::: This item has a few very thin slice areas. Must be printed with no more than a .25mm height or thickness. Any thicker it will not print the hinges.
    Print and then fold up the top and dab a bit of supper glue to firmly connect the top part of cover. The hinge will last a long time if the cover top is just snapped up and toothbrush removed. Flipping the cover up and all the way over will soon break it. Should not need blow drier for heat on the hinge. The other mount piece would be for mounting on a wall. Mount it and then use double stick tape on the cover.

    I’m very new to printing and modelling but I saw the Unicorn light switch cover plate by MikeMasek and thought my girls would go bonkers for it. Only issue was that it wouldn’t fit on my Monoprice Select Mini. So, I hacked this one together and probably made all kinds design mistakes but it worked and the girls love it. If you’d like to tell me all the things that could be improved, I’m all ears and eager to learn.
    If you decide to print this on a MP Select Mini, be advised…I changed my print bed x and y dimensions to 127 to make this work. On one pass while printing the raft I did hear it bump against its hard limit so if you can make it work with everything set to 126 mm you might be better off. Needless, this print makes for a very full print bed on the MPSM.
    I printed with white PLA and it turned out pretty well. On the next one, I’ll probably increase the outer layer a bit because it is a little translucent in some light. It is also 1 or 2mm smaller in diameter than the cover that was on there but it still covers well and looks good. Last thing is that the screws won’t sit flush unless you dremel them out a bit…could be easily fixed in the model. If I do another version, I’ll fix this in the model.

    This year, we’re using a few redline motors on our robot. They’re the kind of motor that have tabs you solder the wire to, but they seem a bit delicate and easy to get torn off if a lose wire got caught on something. To protect the motor and our service loop, I created a cover to keep the tabs and loop nice and safe.
    When you put it on, you might need a layer or two of electrical tape depending on the motor, pahse of the moon, days untill next leap year, ect.

    If you use the model with what looks like tubes running all over, dont use supports, the tubes are supports. Otherwise, you’ll need to create your own supports.
    First layer hieght is 0.36 mm.
    Post-Printing
    You will need to remove the supports, which for me was a bit of a pain.
    Step One: Remove “looser” supports
    Us a pair of needlenose pliers or simailer to remove the majority of the support on the outside and inside of the cover. Dont go crazey trying to get supports that stick too strongly, they”ll come of in one of the other steps.
    Step Two: Remove supports from the cuttouts
    Use a scratch awl/ center punch and hammer to punch out the supports from inside the cutouts and any strgglers you couldn’t get with the pliers (except the ones where the raft was, leave those for the next step). I find it helpful to put the cover in a vice and lightly – I repeat- lightly clamp in in and let it settle to the bottom, then tap the supports out.
    Step Three: Remove the supports from where the raft was
    Usually, I use a chisle to remove supports like this, but had trouble executing. Instead, I held the peice in a pair of vise-grips and used a belt sander to remove them, which leaves a rough, woodstained section, but is probably smoother (and certanly faster) than trying to get them off with pliers.
    How I Designed This
    This tutorial is designed to work to make a cover for any motor you may have, using the redline motor as an example. Screenshots were taken in Onshape.
    Step One (a): Create the main body
    On whatever plane you choose, create a sketch consisting of a line half the diamiter of your motor plus relief (e.g. [(1.77/2 in)+0.25 mm]) from the origin and as long as you want your cover to be tall ( because part of the purpose of my cover was to proect a service loop, I left a lot of room up there). Also create a rounded top as tall or flat as you wish. The top is pretty unimportant and you can just eyeball it. I like to fillet the connection between the line and the arc to make it nice and smooth.

    Offset this entire sketch as thick as you see fit, I used 0.15 in. Also connect the offset sketch to the original one with a line, and be careful with the top arc. Make sure that line is parellel with whichever direction is “up” and even with the offset arc, then connect those two lnes with another line (see close up picture).

    Don’t forget to connect the two arcs properly!

    Revolve that sketch a full 360 degrees into a new solid, using the line parrellel to the “up” direction and in the center of where the solid will be as the revolve axis.

    Step Two (a): Make cutouts for air cerculation and wire routing.
    After offseting a plane the radius of the hollow cylinder you’ve created, sketch slots for any air circualation cutouts in your motor. If you’re making a cover for a sealed motor, like a CIM, dont worry about air. You can find the distance for your cutouts by eyeballing with a caliper or ruler about how far up they start and stop, and to make it nice rounding off the edges with arcs.

    Take any sketches you made for cutouts and extrude them all the way through, or use emboss if your software has it, which is a feature Onshape lacks. Another, much more annoying thing to be witho is the abillity to pattern your holes, so the only way to get more cutouts is to duplicate you sketch onto a perpendicular plane and extrude it through again. I don’t think you can rotate the part or make a plane wuth a costum angle, but if I’m wrong please correct me.

    Now you’ll need cutouts for your wire to exit from, unless you’re cool with them coming through the other cutouts (i think that looks messy). Create two lines. The distance between them is equal to the diamiter of your wire plus relief. Make them as long as the diamiter of your wire times two plus relief, then round the edges with arcs to make it nice. Extrude this, but not all the way through. I also like to add one coming out the top so you’ve got options. The diamier of the hole I extrude out the top is the diamiter of the wire times two plus relief.

    Step Three: Add finishing touches
    I like to chamfer all of the parts you’ll have to stick things through or into to make it easier to align. I chamfered the large opening for the motor to go through and the two wire routing holes.

    You should actually print this at the same resolution and infill that you printed the base for the stand at. Use this to cover the wires in the LED version of his base, or just as a cover to hold in a weight for the base should you decide it needs to be heavier to stand up better or something.
    Also, when printing the base for the stand, add an additional 4 or 5 more layers to the bottom or use a high percentage of infill so you have something solid to put the screws in to.
    How I Designed This
    Whipped it up in 3D Builder after printing a stand and being able to get some measurements for it. This Thing isn’t pretty, but it’ll do the job.

    This is a mould for a high temperature silicone insulator for the MK10 heater block as fitted to the Wanhao i3 Plus and other printers. Gives a 3mm insulating shell around the outside of the block with ports for the cartridge and thermistor wiring.
    Post-Printing
    Parts required
    You’ll need 4xM4 screws and nuts to bolt the two halves of the mould together. The flanges are 3mm thick so M4x10 should just about do it.
    To mould you’ll need to fill half the mould with your silicone – if you can’t get a runny 2 part mix then try to pipe it into the corners. Push the insert in and make sure the silicone is flush with the top. The cross on top should allow the cover to be removed over the insert once cured.

    I received my calc without cover so I made one. I have no idea what the original looks like and what features it has. Sorry. It has integrated supports for the slide in side of 0.4 thickness so you need to turn on single extrusion width walls in your slicer. These do come of easily, much more than regular slicer support for this case.

    Summary
    I own two original SmartExtruders and one SmartExtruder+. I’ve figured out the SmartExtruder+ is great because and only because it’s held on by screws instead of clips. They are about the same as far as performance goes, but it’s nice to have more extruders dedicate for different nozzle diameters.
    Anyway, anyone who owns one of these 5th Gens or had owned one would understand the frustrations of the clip-on extruder covers. Mine are holding on to dear life by my extruder holder or painters’ tape, since it’s readily available.
    The part is self explanatory so there are little words to say about this part, other than I’ve put in about 2 weeks of work on this, but it’s not quite right yet. Measurements were taken and modeled with and without the back-cover for assembly for accuracy, before and after printing. Printed parts were checked under a microscope then the model was adjusted accordingly. Well, I hadn’t finished it yet, but it’s roughly 90% accurate.
    Other work got in the way and I hadn’t worked on this for a couple months and decided to release this to all of you. If it works for you, GREAT! If it doesn’t, I hope someone can finish it, make improvements and share it.
    It’s best to print this at 0.3mm resolution and print it solid. 0.2mm is better but that’s a lot of time spent for an incomplete part that may or may not work. There aren’t any features there that require 0.2mm resolution. 0.4mm prints faster but I feel it’s not fine enough for this application.
    I’ve printed only PLA but it hasn’t quite fit JUST right so I have no idea what will happen at the hot-end.
