[B]The Palace of Culture and Science (PKiN, formerly the Palace of Culture and Science of Joseph Stalin) – the tallest building in Poland (in terms of total height), located in the city of Warsaw on the square Defilad 1. The owner of the building is the capital city of Warsaw. The palace is the seat of the Council of m.st. Warsaw, which is sitting in the Warsaw Hall. Managed by the municipal company Management of Palace of Culture and Science Sp. with o.o. Since 2007 the building has been listed in the Register of Historic Monuments.The palace was the “gift of the Soviet people to the Polish people.” Built in the years 1952-1955, designed by the Soviet architect Leo Rudniew, the building is inspired by Moscow skyscrapers, which in turn are inspired by American art deco décors. Architecturally it is a mix of socialist realism and Polish history. It is the tallest building in Poland. Together with the antenna bracket, which is an integral part of the spire, is 237 meters high [2]The Palace is home to many companies and institutions of general interest, such as cinemas, theaters and museums, colleges (such as Collegium Civitas), the Polish Academy of Sciences, and the Central Commission for Degrees and Titles. There are also various types of exhibitions and fairs. Since 1958 many years have been organized International Book Fair and the accompanying fairs, and also for several years (at the turn of the 20th and 21st century) Computer Expo.
