Overview
Students will learn how to round a number.
Lesson Plan and Activity
Lesson Plan
Teacher will show students how to round a number, such as 12 on chart paper. Students will copy the anchor chart in their Student Journals.
Step 1:
Teacher will show students to find their number and underline it. If rounding to the tens place, that would be the 1.
Step 2:
Teacher will show students to “look next door” to the right, which will show the underlined number what to either round up or round down. The number in the example is 2.
Step 3:
Teacher will show students that if the number on the right is 4 or less to “let it rest” and keep the underlined number the same.
Step 4:
Teacher will show students that if the number is 5 or greater, to add 1 more to the underlined number.
Step 5:
Teacher will make sure students understand that all numbers after the underlined number will become a Zero, and that numbers before the underline will not change.
Students will take a look at the “Rounding Hill”, which will show the concrete example of rounding. Students will imagine a toy car stopping on the numbers. If the car stops on or before the 4, the toy car will be pulled by gravity back down to the 0, and will let the underlined number rest. If the toy car stops on or after the 5, gravity will pull the car down to the right side, signifying that they will add 1 more to the underlined number.Anchor Chart

Battleship Fuso 3D Model
Fuso was the lead ship of the two Fuso-class dreadnought battleships built for the Imperial Japanese Navy. Launched in 1914 and commissioned in 1915, she initially patrolled off the coast of China, playing no part in World War I. In 1923, she assisted survivors of the Great Kanto earthquake.Fuso was modernized in 1930–1935 and again in 1937–1941, with improvements to her armor and propulsion machinery and a rebuilt superstructure in the pagoda mast style. The FV107 Scimitar is an armoured reconnaissance vehicle (sometimes classed as a light tank) used by the British Army. It was manufactured by Alvis in Coventry. It is very similar to the FV101 Scorpion, but mounts a high velocity 30 mm L21 RARDEN cannon instead of a 76 mm gun. Caliburn MuzzleVF1 Friction Fit 3D Print Model
Summary
This is a quick modification to Slug’s Caliburn MuzzleVF1 file, which is an extended muzzle break essentially. It is a friction fit onto the aluminum barrel and doesn’t require screws to be attached. I found that the muzzle would be off-axis from the barrel because of the single screw point and I wanted it to work for when I eventually swap out for a longer barrel. -
