Venom is the nickname for various characters in the Marvel universe. For the first time this name was used for Eddie Brock in The Amazing Spider-Man No. 300 (The Amazing Spider-Man, April 1988). At the moment the name is used by Lee Price. The vein, as such, is the union of the human body with an alien parasite known as Symbiot Ven. It is known that at first Venom was supposed to be a woman who witnessed the death of her husband in a car accident. Symbiotos had to connect with her and direct her anger to Spider-Man. Nevertheless, publishers of Marvel refused this idea, saying that a woman can not become a good villain.
