[Snapmaker] Moth Minimal Spool Holder 3D Print Model
Summary
Moth styled Minimal Spool Holder.

Requires 4 608RS bearings.
Printed with PETG, but anything should do 🙂 Some flex is best though! -

CR-10 Spool Holder 3D Print Model
Summary
I wanted a better spool holder, but didn’t want to completely do away with the stock bracket. This is essentially a sleeve bearing designed to fit over the stock 32mm pipe. It prints in four pieces (you need two dividers) and uses 32x 4.5mm steel BB’s. It can hold any filament spool with a center hole of 54mm or larger.
Print as upright cylinders, no supports. I recommend a brim as it’s not a ton of surface area to stick down. -

Filament Spool axis adapter 3D Print Model
Summary
Filament spool adapter for M8 type axis.
The part is optimized, it consume only 2m of 1.75 filament.
The adapters must be tight against the spool using the nuts and washers on the shaft. The axis rotates with the roller on the support.
The Solidworks file is provided to enable customization.

Stable Spool Holder 3D Print Model
Summary
Remixed from Qrome’s Maker Select spool holder.
I modified the design to include holes for screws that hold the halves together and added a base for use on the top of my enclosure.
Post-Printing
You print 4 of the spool sides and 2 of the base. You’ll need 4 skateboard bearings. Use M4 x 20 mm screws with a lock nut and washers (if you want) to hold the two sides together. Once the sides are assembled, glue them to the base. (I use a silicone glue that I could remove if I needed to.)
There is a spoolHolderPlate.stl if you want to print everything at once. -

Mini Master Spool 3D Print Model
Summary
WARNING, Thing is being test printed right now, thus no files. Print at your own risk, I will update this posting if the half’s work properly.
I have an MP select Mini V2, the build volume on these guys is pretty tiny. 120,120,120 (mm) So I wanted a spool that I could print on that printer.
Enter Mini Master Spool, modeled after RichRap’s awesome Master Spool design. This one does not have all the bells and whistles of his as of yet. I will update the spool to provide such features.
This spool may work for sample filaments or just bits of filament you have laying around. its a little smaller than the 250gram .5kilo spools, i cant remember what one this is. the Bottom printed portion is sitting on a injected mini spool for reference.

N/A Notes:
The two hubs should be printed with the “flat” side down. You may need to use a raft if you get a lot of “Elephant Foot” on your first layer. The prints I have made usually needed to have a few of the roller bearings broken free so everything turns freely. If you have trouble with the bearing sticking together, try lowering the extruder temp and/or reducing the filament flow rate a bit.
I included a cover for the M8 nuts typically used. For these, pause the print at 6.8mm and drop the nuts in, then let it finish.
Post-Printing
Assembly:
Press the hubs into the spool with the spacer between them on the threaded shaft. Snug up lightly with the knobs and place in holder. -

Cr-10 Spool Adapter and Spacer 3D Print Model
Summary
I didn’t like the way the spools rode on the shaft for the Cr-10, so I designed up this spool adapter. If you print one for each side of the spool, they fit over the shaft and inside the spool ID for a much better fit. This also ensures the nut holds the material on, without over tightening. Designed for the Inland 1.75mm 1Kg spools, but works for others as well.
I also recently picked up smaller test spools for glow in the dark and color changing material, and found they were thinner causing the adapters to walk out during printing, so I designed up a quick spacer to solve that problem as well.
Thanks,
Johnny Mac

Quick load Spool Holder 3D Print Model
Summary
I designed this to take away the rockin’ filament roll sometimes experienced during prints with lots of retractions. With a perfectly sized spool holder, the spool can’t rock just roll. This can go in conjunction with the custom spool holder I made for my cheap HICTOP printer. One can easily lift from shelf and place on printer with no fiddling around. If you are interested, check out the models for my printer mounted spool holder which accepts these spools. If the correct size spool you need is not here, you can use the SolidWorks file to create the size you need. If you don’t have access to such software, just leave a comment stating the filament brand and exact hole size and I will be happy to upload.

I really liked his design, and am printing one for my Prusa MK2S, but I wanted a matching holder for my Tevo Tarantula. I remixed this so the holder can hang on a 2020 extrusion. There’s a provision for M4 screws to mount it to the back of the extrusion.
PLEASE NOTE: This was remixed from his 90mm holder. For the 140mm rollers and accessories, please visit his thing.

The various holes in the holder allow to block the filaments in order to recover them very quickly. You can also use these holes to stock your Allen wrenches or your gauge used to remove the plastic jam in the extruder.

Squeeze clip for filament spool spindle / axle 3D Print Model
Summary
For my Anet A8 I wanted a quick release alternative to the supplied M8 nuts, so I designed this squeeze clip. To use just squeeze the arms together slightly to release the grip on the rod and slide off. They won’t grip as well as a nut with lock nut, but it works fine to hold the spindle in place.
I made 2 sizes one for the stock M8 threaded rod with an inside diameter of 7mm and a smaller one for a 6.4mm guide rod I salvaged for a scanner, used for a different spool stand.

I used a wide skirt to help with bed adhesion, My printer isn’t keen on small parts and I lose accuracy without the skirt. Your printer may vary.
The needed supports are all built in and will snap off. I print the clips with 4 lines on the walls / shells hence the 0% infill. I tried printing with thinner walls and 20% infill, but the clips were prone to snapping.
Post-Printing
Trim any skirt and stringing. The support in the gap between the rings that allows the clip to flex, will break free the first time the clip arms are squeezed.
There may be a small amount of support material that needs freeing up from the gap. I used tweezers and a craft knife.

YASH – Yet another spool holder – metric version
Summary
Hi there,
first of all: This is not pure 3D printing – this needs a 15mm aluminium rod cut to the appropriate length.
You can print it quite fast and I really love the ease of use on it. If you´re swapping filament very very often stay tuned I´ll designing a version for this application too and add it here.
What to print for regular 1kg spools:
side 2 times
bar110 2 times (the 110 is also the lenght of 15mm aluminium tube you´ll need)
wheel 2 times (I´ll be adding a few spool diamters – If you need anything special let me know and I´ll provide those files too).
spacers as needed (assemble everything except the spacer to figure out how much you need or just print a few of each size and use them as you need them)
What to come (“work-in-progress”):
version for bigger spools (this means only longer bars and a longer rod).
Taller version If someone tells me that his spools are touching the ground.
AND: Imperial version – but since I don´t know what since aluminium tube you can source cheap in the US I´ll wait for your input on this issue.
