Saxon Burh Market 3D Print Model
These buildings are designed for use with 28mm wargames figures and represent the commercial area of a Saxon burh of the Alfred the Great era during the viking invasions. There is a stable, smithy with anvil and fire, and several generic stalls/buildings They were printed in PLA but only because it was what I had at the time! Saxon Burh Hut (on Roman Walls) 3D Print Model
These buildings are designed for use with 28mm wargames figures and represent a saxon hut of the Alfred the Great era during the viking invasions. It is built against the ruins of a roman wall and was inspired by the musings of Uhtred about London in the Bernard Cornwell’s ‘The Last Kingdom’ series of books. The chapel is compatible with the Saxon Burh fort and buildings elsewhere in Thingiverse. It was printed in PLA but only because it was what I had at the time! (the figure is a 28mm plastic viking from the Gripping Beast wargaming collection, though I did splash some paint on it)

The Mill 3D Print Model
This is a saxon / dark ages mill designed for the 28mm wargames tabletop, but which can be used as a stand-alone/educational model. The building could also be used without the mill workings as a wharfside warehouse, and I have also included a blank rear wall so that the parts can be used to create a standard wooden hut (pictured)
It is based (with a large dose of poetic licence) on the archaeological finds as pictured on the Regia Anglorum site https://regia.org/research/village/acmylen.htm , which I then took liberties with.
For example I may have just invented the saxon sliding door!, but my rationale is that sliding doors are cheaper than hinges, and doable if there isn’t a blacksmith handy.
The mill comes with a river section designed to be used in conjunction with my Modular Water sections ( http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2097314) but I have included a plain mill race if the mill is for stand-alone use. I also include small supports for under the piles so you can adjust the height of the mill if you are using your own river/stream sections.
Please note that the model comes with a grain hopper and support for controlling the flow of the grain into the mill grinding wheel, but they are not included in my photos as I thought they were a bit ott for a wargames model.
Oh – there’s also a couple of flour bags to chuck round the model -

Medieval Norman Helmet

It was created in Autodesk 3ds Max 2012 and was rendered using mental ray renderer. There are 10 texture maps included (diffuse, specular, glossiness, normal map and PBR textures: Albedo, height, metallic, roughness and normal map); all in square 4096×4096 resolutions. All objects, texture maps and materials are properly named for easy use and are contained in a seperate layer. The model has clean topology made out of quads and tris which can be subdivided for greater detail, and is centered to world (0,0,0). Meters were used as units.Lights, cameras, studio background and render setup are also included in this product.
