  • Fan Aperture Base – Remixed 3D Print Model

    Summary
I added supports for the aperture blades. I was having a lot of trouble tightening the screws enough to hold the blades flat but also loose enough to still spin the outer ring. Works pretty well now.

Large Destiny Ghost Remixed Parts 3D Print Model

    Summary
I printed a Ghost for a friend’s birthday but ended up remixing various parts:
The Destiny logo is now separate from the stand so you can print it in 2 colours. There are locating pins to help align the parts.
The lens now has a half sphere on the rear to properly diffuse the light from the LED.
The front and rear bodies are adapted to hold together with magnets.
The front body and rear dial are adapted for 8 petal LED tealights.
The horn has been re-oriented to print flat on the bed.
Someone else had remixed the bodies and dial for 8 petal tea lights and magnets, but the STLs were broken and had been remeshed to a much lower resolution, so I decided to re-make these based on the originals. (When importing existing STLs into TinkerCad, it seems to help if you import them at 1000% scale, then scale them back down after import. This preserves a lot more detail when TinkerCad remeshes the model. Microsoft 3D Builder is also really good at fixing up STLs exported from TinkerCad.)
You’ll need 6mmx1mm magnets for the body halves.
Thanks to the original model authors, and I hope you find these useful! 🙂

That stand is fine at 0.2mm resolution, but print the logo as high as you can – I used 0.05mm. Everything else was printed at 0.15mm. Supports were used inside the body and dial.

Snug Arduino Uno case – remixed 3D Print Model

    Summary
Re-mixed this nice design for a workshop. We are using different types of Arduino clones. This remix will hopfully by the one that all can use. If not, then we will redesign it some more.
