The F-5A is a small, lightweight, low cost, easy-to-maintain supersonic fighter, well suited to the needs of friendly foreign countries who didn’t need, couldn’t afford, and couldn’t maintain the bigger, more complex fighters in the U.S. inventory. Development was begun by Northrop in the mid-1950’s but for a time took back seat to the development of the related T-38 trainer. In 1958 Northrop initiated building of a prototype of this small fighter, designated the N-156F. Two prototypes were built and flown, with a third partially constructed. The firm market for this airplane didn’t develop until May of 1962 when the U.S. Department of Defense selected the N-156F as the basis for the airplane to modernize the air forces of selected countries under the Military Assistance Program (MAP). The airplane was given the designation F-5A, with first flight of the prototype ( a modified N-156F) on July 31, 1963. Canadair built the F5 for Canadian Air Force & Royal Netherlands air force.

X-47 3D Model
X-47B Joint Unmanned Combat Air Systems (J-UCAS) aircraft, the world’s first unmanned surveillance attack aircraft that can operate from both land bases and aircraft carriers. Production is taking place in the St. Louis, Mo., manufacturing facility of Northrop Grumman’s teammate, GKN Aerospace. GKN is responsible for both the design and fabrication of the X-47B’s forward fuselage. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)/U.S. Air Force/U.S. Navy J-UCAS program will demonstrate the technical feasibility and operational utility of low-observable-or “stealth” -land- and sea-based unmanned surveillance attack aircraft, and provide the Air Force and Navy the option to acquire these systems early in the next decade.

Northrop F-5 B Agressors schemes 3D Model
The F-5B was the two-seat version of the F-5A. It was generally similar to the single-seat F-5A but had two seats in tandem for dual fighter/trainer duties. The two crew members sit in tandem rocket-powered ejection seats, and are separated from each other by a windscreen to protect the instructor from windblast in the event of an ejection. The cockpits have separate manually-operated rearward-hinged jettisonable canopies. The instructor’s seat in the rear is raised 10 inches higher than that of the pupil in front to give an improved forward view. The length of the fuselage was the same (46 feet 4 inches) as that of the T-38.The fuselage of the F-5B is quite similar to that of the T-38 Talon two-seat trainer, so similar, in fact, that one must look twice to tell the difference between the two aircraft. Unlike the T-38A, the F-5B retains the wing leading edge flaps and wing root extension of the F-5A, which is perhaps the easiest way to tell the difference between a F-5B and a T-38A. Other differences between the F-5B and the T-38A are a bit more subtle. The F-5B has a braking parachute housing at the rear of the vertical stabilizer just above the engine exhausts, which the T-38A lacks. The F-5B has a double fork on its noseweel in area and lack the square splitter plates of the F-5B.The F-5B was fully combat-capable and was capable of carrying the same external ordnance load as the single seat F-5A. However, the nose cannon armament of the single-seat version was deleted. The takeoff weight was 19,700 pounds, considerably greater than the T-38s 11,700 pounds. Here come with two schemes , USAF agressors in ghost blue & MARINES agressors in desert scheme.

Vintage Northrop Aircraft Sign Litho 3D Print Model
Summary
Here’s just a great looking old Northrop logo. The STL file should print out real nice too. Bar none, the greatest and most unsung WWII plane was built by Northrop, the P-61 Black Widow. It’s my favorite prop plane. MAAM is building one of the I think only THREE P-61’s left on the planet, and theirs will be the only airworthy one. It has one hell of an interesting story behind it too, look it up! I can’t wait to see that bad boy in the air! -
