Manatee amulet 3D Model
I am the Manatee (Manatee).I lived in the West Indies before the arrival of Christopher Columbus (1492).Native Americans, Caribbean and Arawaks hunted me for my flesh and my bones.But overall, at the time, we got along rather well.To the point that an Amerindian artist from Guadeloupe (or the surrounding area) carved me in a piece of conch (beautiful shell of the Antilles), with a finesse of details and a stylized realism stupefying for someone who did not have any metal tool. What an outstanding artist!Today, my species has died in the French West Indies, but the artist in question or his client of the time has forgotten in the sand of a beach in Guadeloupe his precious amulet lambi representing me. I was his lucky charm. I brought him strength, opulence and serenity.Today, 500 years later, technology makes it possible to share this historical and artistic wonder, as a tribute to biodiversity and the environment.
