HUMRAAM is an advanced air-defense guided-missile-system launcher combining five of Raytheon’s combat-proven AMRAAM missiles on the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV). This low-cost, high-reliability launcher provides high firepower, fire-and-forget, non-line-of-sight engagement of tactical aircraft, cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles that threaten forward-maneuver forces, critical assets and vital areas, such as White House or Olympic Games.Actually, Raytheon official supplied it to 2004 Athens Olympic. Raytheon developed the HUMRAAM concept in cooperation with the US Army Aviation and Missile Command, the US Marine Corps Systems Command and Counter Air Joint Systems Project Office as a near term expeditionary air defense system.
