Leica Rangefinder Polarized Filter Holder 3D Print Model
Summary
This is a polarized filter holder I designed and printed for my Leica M6 and M9 rangefinder cameras. It holds a 77MM polarized filter and fits on the end of my 50mm f/2 Summicron lens. Filter thread diameter: 77mm, Lens diameter end: 47mm. Clearances permits pressure fits of filter and on lens and can be removed easily so no screws, clamping, or other scratch inducing mechanisms are necessary! I’ve please a slot on the outside of the flange so that the filter effect can be seen while twisting the filter within the ring. The holder is small enough to clear the focusing square in the viewport – so focusing obstruction. This same design could be adapted easily for for other lens sizes. I designed in in Fusion 360.
Printing note: I printed it with the lens side (small diameter) facing the bed and used support.

MO4 Gas Mask 3D Model
Background. MO4 Gas Mask is tactical airsoft, which is developed and used in U.S. Army since 1980. It is used against chemical and radioactive gas, but not effective enough for preservation of oxygen.Long description:This 3D mask is have same angles and form proportionally as it made according to online pictures which shows different views of 3D mask. Certain thickness to the model is made by Solidify modifier, even it views like a flat 3d object. All polygons which intersect each other are fixed after applying modifiers. Polygons which lays inside the mask are fixed by flipping normals on opposite direction after applying Solidify modifier. The model is supposed to be applied by Subdivision modifier according to the plan of making its correct 3D form, but depends on personal performance. Its shown on pictures that some polygons of special pattern lays around lens in clear sequence. Lens are not made. Polygons on borders of gaps are cut by loop to make angles sharper if Subdivision is used. The number of polygons and faces which is shown in general information of product is sum of gasmask and filters polygons, not separately only gasmask. Names of objects: MO4Mask, gasfilter1, gasfilter2.The model is used for video games, but textures and special materials are not made, only simple material of white colour. Probably it can be used for printing too, as it low-poly object. I created the funnel after seeing the water going out the sides/corners. While this wont get 10% of the flow, it should get the flow w/ detritus/etc.

Post-PrintingYou can tell that the print itself didn’t turn out too good on my side. My printer is quite cheap, and during the printing of the two parts I had to buy a new filament (gray), which appears to be worse in quality.
During printing, the sides cracked/separated, and I used tape to keep it from breaking any further.
Later on I glued on everything that looked structurally weak. Looks ugly, but I intend to paint the whole thing later anyways.
