Custom brim for a 3x scaled Makies Pumpkin Base — Makes a nice Halloween Candy Bowl
I was printing a 3x scaled Makies Pumpkin and was 85 to 86% complete when the print died. (Was printing from SD card but host machine in lab was rebooted and to my surprise/disgust the two machines that were printed directly from SD card also stopped when the host went down) Rather than waste 18 hours of print time and half a roll of filament I came up with a lid/brim that covered the exposed infill and reasonably salvaged this print for an alternative use. I printed it in black PLA and felt it was too start so I then printed this brim in Orange PLA and I am happy with the result.

Cereal Scoop 3D Print Model
We bought some “penny candy” jars to keep cereal in our pantry, and I just needed a simple scoop suitable for dry cereal. I designed this one in Fusion 360, and put a flat bottom on it to keep it from rolling on the counter, and also to make it easier to print with minimal supports. It came out quite sturdy and well balanced. I hadn’t planned on switching colors, but this was about a 4 ½ hour print job on my Prusa i3 MK2, and about halfway through, I thought it might be cool to switch filament and make it two-toned. I think it turned out pretty cool.
