8K textures baked from high resolution 3dscan:Albedo/ColorNormal maps 16BitAmbient Occlusion.Two Komainu #3 (guardian lions) from shinto shrine.Meant to ward off evil spirits, modern komainu statues are almost identical, but one has the mouth open, the other closed. This is a very common characteristic in religious statue pairs at both temples and shrines. This pattern is however Buddhist in origin (see the article about the Ni, human-form guardians of Buddhist temples) and has a symbolic meaning. The open mouth is pronouncing the first letter of the Sanskrit alphabet, which is pronounced a, while the closed one is uttering the last letter, which is pronounced um, to represent the beginning and the end of all things. Together they form the sound Aum, a syllable sacred in several religions like Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism.

Excellent quality model of a Dodge Viper. No textures were used except for the tires, which are unwrapped. The rest of the model is not.Geometry is quads with a few rare triangles. The model has 66,999 faces and 66915 vertices before subdivision. Renders were done with a subdivision level of 3. Subsurface level 2 was used for viewport pictures.Renders were done with 2500 samples. A plane with an emission shader was used to light the interior.With the exception of the tire materials, which were done in gimp, all work was in blender. The tires are also the only portion of the moodel that use textures, the rest is all cycles materials. The interior is not highly detailed as this wasn’t meant for interior renders. It is just there so there isn’t a gaping hole that can be seen through the windshields.
